| For me, there is nothing harder than
plein air painting. It is probably the most valuable form of practice
for a representational painter. Whenever I start feeling like I'm
getting good, I take my easle outdoors for a little self-humiliation.
Another way to feel really humbled- as well as challenged- as an
artist is to break out with the Sargent or Zorn books. These guys
set the standards high... |
